„Transhumanism And The Real Challenges Of Youth“

The participants of the training „transhumanism & the real challenges for youth“

Our training on transhumanism in Zurich (23–29 April 2023) was a great success! With 31 professionals from 15 countries, we engaged in intensive group and individual work, gained insights from Tugba Kara and Dr. Oliver Dürr, and participated in a US delegation simulation on AI chips, moderated by Dr. Yahya Bajwa.

A highlight of the week was the guest lecture by Swiss cyborg Mike Schaffner, who shared his personal experiences. We also visited GZ Wollishofen, where Gina Balsiger introduced us to sociocultural projects.

Beyond the academic program, we explored Zurich’s cultural scene: a guided tour at Kunsthaus Zürich, where Dr. Sandra Gianfreda introduced the Re-Orientations exhibition, followed by a city tour and a traditional raclette dinner.

This Movetia-funded mobility project brought together professionals from education and social work for a 5-day training, addressing the challenges posed by transhumanism.

A big thank you to all participants, experts, and sponsors – especially Treeseeds for our stylish, sustainable bottles and Freshshop Seebach for providing delicious snacks

Is Art in Islam Allowed? A Personal Perspective

Is art in Islam acceptable, or is it forbidden? I’ve asked myself this question many times. But I’ve come to the conclusion that something so beautiful, something that brings so much joy, cannot be wrong.

During my Master’s studies in Islam & Society, I discovered that Muslims were once far less conservative about art than many assume today.

For me, Arabic calligraphy is one of the most beautiful and expressive writing styles. Many of my paintings incorporate calligraphy, blending it with abstract shapes and forms.
